Genesis of a new era, an era of unending quest for innovation and implementation of innovative ideas; Department of ECE, FISAT sets sights on this and is fully on the ball. One of our ventures in this direction is FETCH’22- FISAT Electro Technical Circuit Hackathon’22.

So, gear up and get ready for the much awaited 24 hours live hackathon-FETCH’22.

FETCH’22 is a 24 hours live hackathon and has 3 segments

  • First segment is a domain-based task, which will be provided to all the registered teams. This will be conducted in online mode and the task will be released on 8th of April 2022.
  • Second segment will be conducted in offline mode on 6th May 2022(POSTPONED). Venue will be FISAT, Angamaly.
  • Qualifiers from segment 2 will immediately enter the 24-hour live FINAL SEGMENT in which the problem statements will be provided by different companies as per their placement/internship requirements.

ECHO - Electronics and Communication Heuristics Organization

ECHO serves as a forum for technical discussions and has been actively organizing various technical events and competitions every year. It focuses on building the technical skills of the students and providing them different venues for expressing their creativity.

The IEDC acts as an aspirational platform, for the student entrepreneurs and tech savvy innovators, in skilling and sharpening their entrepreneurial skill sets.

ISTE

ISTE organizes an annual convention for faculty and students separately every year where a large number of Technocrats, Technical Teachers, and Policy Makers Experts from Industry etc…, participate and interact. ISTE Student chapter in FISAT was formed in July 2004 and has received the Best Student chapter Kerala award in 2006.

EHC

The Electronics Hobby Club(EHC) was introduced in the year 2018 with the objective to improve the hands-on skills of students and create more skills and knowledge about the topics outside the curriculum. The club drew colossal contemplation from all batches of ECE students and the competitions organized by the club received good response.

FISAT

FETCH’22 will be conducted in three levels:

Level 1 ( online )


  • FETCH22 will be conducted in two domains( Embedded systems and Artificial Intelligence). A team can choose only one domain.
  • Registered teams will be provided with a task based on the domain specified during registration.
  • Level one task will be released on 8th April 2022
  • Few sample tasks are listed under “SAMPLE TASK” to get more clarity about Level 1.
  • The task needs to be completed by 22nd April 2022 and a demonstration video should be uploaded.
  • Teams can choose any electronic components to achieve the task.
  • Shortlisting will be done based on the uploaded video/presentation and selected teams will be intimated by 28th April 2022.


Level 2 ( offline )


  • Shortlisted teams can participate in the circuit design contest which will be held in the institution on 6th May 2022(POSTPONED).
  • Shortlisting will be done by the representatives of academia/industry based on the performance


Level 3 ( offline )


  • A problem statement related to the chosen domain is released by the officials of the companies to the shortlisted teams on 6th May 2022(Afternoon)(POSTPONED)
  • The qualified teams will have to stay back for 24 hours in the campus to develop a solution for the problem statement.
  • Evaluation of the task will be done by the respective officials of the companies on 7th May 2022(Afternoon)(POSTPONED)

LEVEL 1 SAMPLE TASKS

Few sample tasks are listed to get more clarity about various levels. Teams can expect the same type of questions for level 1. Final round problem statements are defined by the company representatives as of their requirement. Remember these are only a few sample tasks and actual tasks may vary. Teams can choose any set of electronic components to achieve the below task.

PARTICIPANT GUIDELINES

  • The number of participants in a team is limited to two. A team shall constitute either Inter-college or Intra-college participants.
  • During registration, each team must choose a domain that cannot be changed later.
  • A Primary Task will be intimated to the registered candidates based on the selected domain and demonstration video has to be prepared by the team members based on it and to be uploaded within the specified time.
  • The first level of shortlisting is done based on the contents of the video demonstration. An online presentation may be scheduled if required for more clarity.
  • The shortlisted teams upon intimation,can enter the remaining rounds of Hackathon which will be held at the institution in offline mode.
  • The remaining rounds of HACKATHON are scheduled for two days. These rounds are based on the particular domain selected at the time of registration.
  • The number of rounds depends on the number of participants registered. The final task for the HACKATHON will be released by the representatives of the industry. The time duration for completion of the task is 24 hours.
  • The team members should bring components of their choice like microcontroller boards, IoT gateways, motor drivers etc. Packed devices are not permitted.
  • Each team should bring their own laptops. Wifi internet facility will be provided at the venue.
  • It is recommended that the participants bring the components so that they are familiar to work with.
  • The winners are selected based on the overall performance of the team in the HACKATHON.
  • The winners/top performers will be recommended by the institution for Internship/Placement to the Companies which are part of the HACKATHON. The final decision in this matter depends on the decision and policy of the individual Company.

ECE Department

Established in the year 2002, the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering is committed to providing quality professional education to aspiring engineers. The department offers UG, PG and PhD programmes. B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering is an NBA accredited programme with an annual sanctioned intake of 120 students. PG programme offered is M.Tech in VLSI and Embedded systems with an intake of 24 . The department is also an approved research centre for APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University for its PhD program. The department has well experienced and dedicated faculty members and aims to impart sound knowledge and awareness in the latest developments in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering.

A hackathon is an event that brings together experts and creates a collaborative environment for solving a certain problem. The aim is to design, build and present the most innovative solution to a problem, and then pitch a final concept or prototype by the end of the event.
